Judge: Transgender Girls Can Play Girls Sports in Utah

A Salt Lake City judge on Friday temporarily halted a Utah law that banned transgender girls from competing in girls’ sports.

As reported by The Washington Post, the decision came as judge Keith Kelly of the Third Judicial District Court in Salt Lake City considered a lawsuit by the families of three transgender students and opened the door for those students to compete in girls’ sports this school year, though a state-created commission will ultimately make that determination.
