The family of a 15-year-old who drowned during a summer football camp last July filed a lawsuit Monday against the Phoenix Union High School District claiming four counts of gross negligence and wrongful death.

As reported by Phoenix ABC affiliate KNXV, Christopher Hampton was first reported missing during the camp trip and was later found dead. The family claims that without supervision, and after ignoring "no swimming" signs, coaches left the Cesar Chavez High School freshman behind where he drowned in the lake.
