An employee at Villa Sport Athletic Club and Spa in Katy, Texas, has been arrested on charges of indecency with a child while on the job. Â
According to KHOU, Joseph Brvenik, 17, was arrested following and investigation and later released after posting bail of $75,000.Â
A Villa Sport member shared a letter she received with KHOU from management that said an employee first expressed concern about "possible employee misconduct involving a toddler in our care" on March 21. The gym, however, said they had review surveillance video and interviewed employees and determined that no misconduct had occurred.Â
After no action was taken, an employee took the matter to the sheriff's office, and the club later sent out a letter to members saying their were cooperating with the investigation.Â
"In the meantime, the employee has now taken to social media and has made numerous false accusations about the incident and our investigation," the letter said. "... Please know that your children are safe in Villa Kids. Their well-being has always been our top priority, and that commitment will never change."
Lauren Valluzzi, the member who shared the letter, said she plans to continue going there but hopes the incident sparks change.
"I felt positive that they addressed it," Valluzzi said. "I don't have kids here, so, I like the fact that they videotape everything so that parents can feel positive that their kids are being taken care of."
