The president of a youth soccer league in Central New York has been charged with stealing over $50,000 from the group.

According to Syracuse.com, Paul R. Palucci, 36, was arrested last week and charged with second-degree grand larceny and first-degree falsifying business records after allegedly using the CYN Premier Soccer Club's accounts for fraudulent charges.

The investigation into Palucci began in 2023 after police were notified of the missing money and paying members of the club were told the group was bankrupt.

Investigators discovered that Palucci had used the group’s accounts to make fraudulent charges totaling over $50,000 and had changed the group's bylaws to his own advantage.

Palucci was paid $8,200 in 2021 to be the group's president. He has now been arraigned in Syracuse and is being held without bail.
