You might have noticed that things look a little different around here. After using our previous website design for more than three years, we felt AthleticBusiness.com was in need of a facelift.
Our team has spent months diligently planning this redesign and we kept you, our readers, in mind every step of the way. There are a lot of changes, but the high-quality content youβve come to expect from AB is still here β weβve just made it easier to access. One of the keys to our new design was a strong focus on multimedia. Youβll find more photos and original video content throughout the site.
But there is also substance to back up our stylistic changes. For our desktop visitors, take a look at the improved navigation bar at the top of the screen: Weβve changed the category names and organized our content by the topics that athletic, fitness and recreation professionals think about every day. Hover over one of those categories and youβll notice the detailed drop-down menus with further options to guide you to the information you want.
Of course, a big part of AthleticBusiness.com is our unique features such as the Buyers Guide, the Content Library and the Architectural Showcase. We call these our βGo-Toβ items, and they can be found in the right-hand column of every drop-down menu. No matter where you are on the site, these AB staples are always just one click away.
If youβre reading this on your mobile device (and our statistics tell us about 25 percent of you are) youβve probably noticed some changes, too. One of our most significant improvements is our new mobile-friendly design. You commented, tweeted and told us personally that you were not satisfied with the mobile experience provided by AB previously. We listened. Weβve eliminated the annoying pop-up advertisement and created a layout where the article you want to read adapts to your screen, giving you the best reader experience possible. Nice how this text fills your screen and isnβt confined to a small column, isnβt it?
There are other tweaks, β a new commenting system, featured writer pages and improved site search functionality β the list is lengthy. We encourage you to click around and try it out for yourself. Itβs still the same Athletic Business, only better. We hope you enjoy.
Sincerely,
Michael Gaio
