A high school volleyball coach in North Dakota has resigned after she was suspended without pay pending an investigation that she allegedly physically restrained, exchanged obscenities and chipped the tooth of a student-athlete.
According to The Forum, Northern Cass High School head girls' volleyball coach Angie Johnson was notified of the allegations and suspension by superintendent Cory Steiner in a letter dated Oct. 1.

According to The Forum, Northern Cass High School head girls' volleyball coach Angie Johnson was notified of the allegations and suspension by superintendent Cory Steiner in a letter dated Oct. 1.Â
The letter alleged that Johnson had engaged in "chipping a student-athlete's tooth, exchanging obscenities with a student-athlete and physically restraining a student-athlete." No other details were provided.
Johnson has officially resigned from her position. This fall would have been her sixth season with the Jaguars.Â
"I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities that I have been given in this role," Johnson wrote in her resignation letter. "I will hold all of the relationships and memories close to my heart."
Johnson told The Forum that the decision to resign was the right one.Â
"It was tough," Johnson said via text message, "but I had to make a decision that was best for myself, my family and the team."
