Nearly two weeks after being suspended by Green Bay (Wis.) East High School, head football coach Niko Sila has been given an ultimatum by school administrators: resign or be fired.
According to Fox 11 News, the allegations against the beloved football coach have not been made public, as state law prohibits the school from sharing that information. However, sources close to Sila reported that the administrators provided a range of allegations from disparaging remarks about school administrators to giving student-athletes rides home after practice and even making students do pushups if they cursed during practice.

Today, a student petition to reinstate Sila has garnered 2,267 signatures from students and community members.
"My heart is broken because of the youth," Sila said. "Because of the kids I give my all to. The kids I took home because of safety reasons. The kids I helped feed. The family members, we create such a strong bond and trust together. It seems like their voice was all for nothing and I don't want them to feel like that."
Sila was given one week to resign or allow the administrators to go through with their plans to recommend that the school board terminate Sila from his position as head football coach of Green Bay East and manager of engagement, attendance and advocacy.
"I'm not the type of person to give up," he said, and reassured his supporters that even if the school administrators are successful in removing him from his position, he will continue to “help students and families in Green Bay.”
