Valparaiso University is set to become the newest member of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC), after the league announced it had extended a conference membership invitation to the school.
The conference released the announcement on Twitter Tuesday.

The Crusaders will replace the departing Wichita State Shockers in the MVC. Wichita State announced that it would be departing the MVC for the American Athletic Conference in April.
Pending negotiation of terms, Valparaiso, currently a member of the Horizon League, will join the MVC on July 1, the same date Wichita State departs.
Valparaiso was chosen as an expansion candidate from a list that also included Murray State, Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Nebraska-Omaha. The move will keep the MVC’s membership at 10 schools, though USA Today reports that the league could expand to 12 “in the near future.”
