HS Threatened After Alum Turns Down Louisville Job

Passionate sports fans love their teams and often do crazy things in support of them, but the situation involving Purdue head coach Jeff Brohm is really something else.

Brohm, a Louisville native and University of Louisville alumni, was widely considered to be a candidate for the school’s open head coaching job after Bobby Petrino was fired earlier in November. Brohm’s strong ties to the area and to the program — in addition to being a player, he was an assistant coach for Louisville for six seasons — made it seem likely that he’d return home to lead his alma mater. It was even erroneously reported that Brohm would make the jump.
