The University of Arkansas is preparing to undertake a number of new facility projects, including a new baseball development center, a track high performance center and renovations to the Randal Tyson Track Center. The baseball facility will be approximately 45,000 square feet, providing an expanded locker room, a team room, a weight room, a training room, meeting rooms, nutrition space, player and pitcher development spaces and in-venue batting cages. The track high-performance center will construct a new 22,000 square foot space, combining the operations of the men’s and women’s programs into one efficient space. Finally, the Randal Tyson Track Center will replace the track surface, add new graphics, and install new AV technology. — arkansasrazorbacks.com

Minnesota State University, Mankato broke ground on its $5.49 million seasonal Maverick All-Sports Dome this week. The 109,850-square-foot facility will be an air-inflated space, providing the school with an indoor facility from mid-October through mid-April, and will convert to an outdoor space through the spring and summer. When complete, the facility will serve the school’s athletics programs, as well as campus recreation, university academic classes, and clubs and organizations. It’s expected to open in December. — mankato.mnsu.edu
