An on-court brawl between the members of two girls’ basketball teams resulted in a man allegedly punching a teenage girl.
According to 7News Miami, a 17-year-old girls’ basketball player alleged that tensions between the teams had caused the game to end early, but that a fight broke out shortly thereafter.
“There was a bunch of girls pulling me by my hair, so once I got loose, I hit one of the girls that hit me,” the player said, adding, “Out of nowhere this big guy that I don’t even know grabs me by my hair, cocks his arm back and completely just hits me, and that’s when I fell out.”
Cell phone video appears to capture the incident.

Police were called to the scene, but by the time they arrived the alleged attacker was already gone, according to the player.
“I feel like, as a parent or as an adult, you should be mature enough to be able to stop a fight or try to break up a fight rather than choosing to hit another student, and a female at that,” the player told 7News Miami.
Local police are reportedly investigating the incident.
