The California State University Board of Trustees approved design and financing for San Diego State’s Mission Valley Stadium project. The 35,000-seat Aztec Stadium is estimated to cost about $310 million, and will be funded through a combination of gifts and system-wide revenue bonds. Coronavirus has delayed and shaken a great many aspects of college athletics, but some programs are moving full-steam ahead on their construction projects despite the outbreak. The University of Georgia is one such program, as construction firm DPR Construction continues work on the school’s $80 million football facility. Construction crews are reportedly under direction from their own company with regard to social distancing policies and continued work. — Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Auburn University is another program reportedly undeterred from facility projects in the midst of the pandemic. AD Allen Greene told reporters that he hopes the school’s Board of Trustees will approve the site details by the end of the month. The board has already the project’s architects — Goodwyn, Mills, Cawood and HOK Architects. — AL.com
Virginia Commonwealth University has reportedly purchased nearly 11 acres of land for the future site of its Athletics Village. The school purchased that land for $11.75 million, and will enable athletics operations to relocate, freeing up current space for academic facilities. Plans call for the VCU Athletics Village to include a new indoor/outdoor tennis center, a multipurpose indoor facility, and a practice facility for the baseball program. — VCU.prestosports.com
Montana State University-Northern has begun construction on its new football stadium project. Plans call for a synthetic turf field, grandstands and a press box. The $3 million project has been funded primarily through donations, and is still $400,000 away from the goal. — MontanaSports.com
