Facility Friday: Memphis Arena, Oklahoma Ballpark and More

The University of Memphis’ Elma Roane Fieldhouse is set to undergo a $3.5 million facelift. Planned upgrades for the home of the Tigers women’s basketball team include improvements to risers, new acoustical panels in the gym, fresh paint, renovating both the team bench and press areas, and improved concessions and bathroom facilities. The construction is expected to begin immediately, and will be partially completed ahead of the 2020-21 season. — GoTigersGo.com

The University of Oklahoma is reportedly raising funds to give L. Dale Mitchell Park, home of Sooner baseball, a $15 million upgrade. The work will include amenities such as a new clubhouse space, coaches offices, team meeting space, chair-back seating, new fan amenities along the upper concourse and additional restrooms and concessions areas. The project is expected to break ground in June 2021. — D1Baseball.com

Stephen F. Austin University announced that it would upgrade its soccer facility. Plans call for a seating capacity of about 1,200 fans, with options for chairback seating, general admission seating and suites. The project, funded by private donations, is expected to be completed before the season kicks off this fall. — SFAJacks.com
