Facility Friday: SDSU Stadium, Cal Poly Baseball and More

San Diego State University broke ground this week at its Mission Valley stadium site, as the school officially took ownership of the property. The stadium, slated for completion in fall of 2022, will host Aztec football, soccer and lacrosse; international and professional soccer; concerts and more. The stadium will have a seating capacity of 35,000, and feature modern amenities. — GoAztecs.com

Cal Poly had a virtual ribbon-cutting ceremony for its Dignity Health Baseball Clubhouse on Saturday. The $9.4 million, 10,679-square-foot project includes a multipurpose room, a team locker room, an athletes lounge, a sports medicine space, coaches’ offices, umpire dressing rooms and an academic center. The two-story facility is attached to the team’s Baggett Stadium. — GoPoly.com 

The University of Nevada recently completed a $3 million renovation of Mackay Stadium that brings the facility into ADA compliance. Recent renovations included the addition of new spaces for wheelchairs and unobstructed sight lines. The renovations required some additional modifications, including removing some seating and reducing the total number of loge boxes. — NevadaSportsNet.com
