Texas A&M last week officially opened its new $12 million, 28,000-square-foot Polo Road Rec Center. The facility features such amenities as an indoor turf area, rooms for fitness classes, towel service, locker rooms and more. It’s part of a larger $78 million project that also includes a parking garage, food courts and offices for the school’s transportation services department. — Today.TAMU.com

The University of Missouri this week announced a second eight-figure gift to fund construction of a new indoor football practice facility. The anonymous gift will support the school’s efforts to build a facility with a full-length turf field to relieve demand on Devine Pavilion, which has only a 70-yard indoor field. That facility will continue to serve the school’s baseball, softball and soccer programs once the new indoor facility is built. — MUTigers.com

Division III Hope College recently broke ground on the $3.3 million Jim Heeringa Athletic Center. The 10,000-square-foot locker room complex will be built on the north end of Ray and Sue Smith Stadium, and serve the school’s football, baseball and softball programs. The facility will feature team locker rooms, athletic training space, team meeting rooms and equipment storage space. — Grand Rapids Business Journal

Rutgers University recently unveiled the Rodkin Academic Success Center. The facility serves as a home to the school’s men’s and women’s soccer and lacrosse programs, but offers academic support spaces to all Scarlet Knight athletes. — ScarletKnights.com
