South Carolina police arrested a man for watching a woman in the tanning bed of the local Planet Fitness.
WBTW, a CBS affiliate in Florence, reported that 22-year-old Haven Grant was booked Aug. 10 into the Spartanburg County Jail on charges of indecent exposure. Planet Fitness surveillance footage showed Grant naked while watching a woman tan.
“The employees at the business were looking through some videos. After looking at the videos, that’s when they noticed some things that didn’t look right, that looked strange,” Spartanburg Police Department major Art Littlejohn said.
According to Littlejohn, Grant was assigned a tanning bed room on Aug. 9. He took his clothes off, went into the empty room next door and hid. A woman entered the room unaware that somebody else was in there.
After the woman left the room, Grant left, walked around the common area and masturbated. Planet Fitness employees informed the police and the woman of the incident, while also terminating Grant’s membership.
“I think it was some great work by the employees who were there — watching the videos and noticing that something didn’t seem right — and contacting law enforcement,” Littlejohn said. “Because of that, and because of their call to us, it allowed us to make that arrest.”
