A head fencing coach in Nashville, Tenn., is facing sex charges involving a minor.
Robert C. Piraino, 37, owner and head coach at Music City Fencing, was arrested this week, accused of paying a 15-year-old student-athlete to send him explicit photos and videos of herself, WKRN-TV reported.
Metropolitan Nashville police are charging Piraino with two counts of inducing sexual activity involving a minor. The teen told authorities she engaged in “dirty talk” in one video at Piraino’s request.
Police say the inappropriate sexual conduct started with the teen girl in 2019 and continued until earlier this year, WTVF-TV reported. The girl told police that Piraino had her take pictures of her feet with his phone, asked for pairs of her socks, and sent her messages about him having sex with other women.
Piraino was taken into custody at his fencing club. Police searched Piraino’s business and his home with a warrant. Cell phones, computers and other items were seized.
Investigators asked parents whose children took lessons from Piraino at Music City Fencing Club to report any concerns to the MNPD’s Youth Services Division at 615-862-7417.
