Girls Soccer Coach Charged with Sexting Players

Andy Berg

A girls soccer coach in Roseville, Mich., is being accused of sending sexually explicit texts to current and former players.

Christopher Mahla, 25, of Roseville is officially being charged with two counts of accosting children for “immoral purposes” and two counts of using a computer to communicate with another to commit a crime, according to a report from Detroit’s Local 4.

Mahla was coach of the Roseville High School junior varsity squad during the spring 2017 season, but the school has since terminated his employment.

Roseville police report that Mahla has been sexting with players for the past several months. At least three girls told Local 4 that they had received lewd Snapchat messages form the coach.

A statement from Roseville Police said the department would not comment on the case further due to the sensitive nature of the investigation. "It is possible that the suspect in this matter may have had contact with additional students other than those that have already stepped forward in this matter," read a police statement.
