A young woman was taken to the hospital Sunday after being struck in the head by a foul ball at Dodger Stadium.
The woman was seated four rows from the field down the left field line when a line drive off the bat of the Dodgers' Cody Bellinger hit her on the head. She remained in her seat for 15 minutes after being administered first aid, which included application of an ice pack, but then left the stadium for a nearby hospital for precautionary tests.
Bellinger checked on the woman at the conclusion of the first inning, when the incident occurred, before she left.
The incident was the latest in a string of injuries caused by foul balls at MLB parks in recent years, including the fatal head injury suffered last August by a fan at Dodger Stadium. Fan safety returned to focus this season, after a young girl was injured by a foul ball May 29 in Houston.

As reported by the Associated Press, all 30 major league stadiums expanded protective netting to at least the far ends of the dugouts at the start of the 2018 season after several fans were injured by foul balls two years ago. The Chicago White Sox and Washington Nationals recently announced that they will extend their netting to the foul poles.
