A group of parents at a baseball game in Conroe, Texas, over the weekend had to subdue an umpire who was running from police.

According to police, Ramsey LaFonte refused to pull over for a traffic stop and pulled into the sports complex where he was tackled by parent Joseph Jones.

"I figured since it didn't look like a good situation and a lot of kids were here, I figured why not stop whatever is going on and let the police handle it from there," Jones told the local NBC affiliate.

Police say they found LaFonte with six grams of crystal meth and he had an outstanding warrant for credit card abuse.

He's now charged with evading arrest and possession of a controlled substance.
