An Arizona State University student has died after being found unresponsive in the Sun Devil Fitness Center in Tempe on Saturday night.

As reported by ABC affiliate KNXV in Phoenix, officials were first called to the fitness center located on ASU's Tempe campus around 7:20 p.m. for a report of an injured person in the pool area, according to the ASU Police Department.

The reporting party has not given permission to release their information, ASU Police Department spokesperson Adam Wolfe said, and it is unclear whether they were in the pool area with Bryan, according to the Arizona Republic.

When officers arrived, they located the student, identified by police as 19-year-old Andrew Bryan, unresponsive in the pool area and took over CPR efforts.

Paramedics from the Tempe Fire and Medical Rescue arrived and assisted, the Republic reported, but Bryan was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Officials say he was swimming laps prior to police arrival. It is unclear what led up to the incident, but officials say that no foul play is suspected.

The Associated Press reported that Bryan's body has been turned over to the medical examiner, who will determine the cause of death.
