A former swim coach in Colorado has been arrested after prosecutors allege he had inappropriate sexual contact with multiple underage swimmers in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

KDVR-TV reported that the Colorado District Attorney’s Office said Jon Michael Beber was arrested on July 14 on three charges of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust.

Beber was a coach for the Boulder swim club team from 1997 to 2002, when it's alleged that he had inappropriate sexual contact with multiple underage swimmers from the team.

Beber left the coach position in 2002 when allegations of inappropriate behavior surfaced, according to reports. Beber has also coached swim teams in New York, Florida and Georgia.

Beber is in Georgia awaiting extradition back to Colorado, KDVR-TV reported.
