A list of at least 6,000 Argentine fans have been banned from entering World Cup stadiums in Qatar, according to the Buenos Aires city government.

"The violent ones are here and in Qatar. We want to bring peace back to football and that the violent ones are outside the stadiums," the city's Justice and Security Minister Marcelo D'Alessandro said in an interview on a local radio station, according to ESPN

D'Alessandro said the fans were included in the ban for being "barras" [violent fans], for participating in illicit actions, and for owing maintenance payments [from divorced parents].

The orders will be carried out in Qatar by delegations of different police bodies of Argentina that will be sent to work together with the Qatari security authorities.
