A Buffalo Bills fan who shoved both DeAndre Hopkins and Lamar Jackson after the Baltimore Ravens scored a touchdown during Sunday night's season-opening game for both teams has been indefinitely banned from all NFL stadiums.
As reported by Sports Illustrated, NBC's Sunday Night Football coverage showed Hopkins and his teammates celebrating his one-handed touchdown catch, before a fan in the Highmark Stadium crowd hit the wide receiver on the helmet. The fan then shoved Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson — who shoved the fan back — before the fan was ultimately ejected from the stadium.
ESPN's Adam Schefter was first to report the stadium ban on social media.
"You gotta think in those situations. You know, you've got security out there. Let security handle it," Jackson said after the game, while admitting that he shouldn't have retaliated. "I just let my emotions get the best of me. But hopefully it doesn't happen again."
"While the NFL could potentially punish Jackson for his actions, it seems unlikely after news of the fan's banishment," wrote Mike Kadlick of SI.
