The Dell Jewish Community Center’s recent renovation and expansion is a testament to exceptional design and community commitment. Shalom Austin initiated this transformative project to meet the growing needs of its diverse membership. The facility now boasts a 40,000-square-foot renovated community building, an expanded aquatics center, new tennis/pickleball facilities and a refreshed 46,000-square-foot education building. The design philosophy emphasized creating dynamic and sustainable spaces that honor Jewish heritage. The project’s focus on community building, learning and global betterment guided every design decision. The renovated Rochelle and Stanley Ferdman Family Aquatic Center includes a 5,000-square-foot lap pool, a 2,225-square-foot children’s activity pool and a large 30-foot slide tower. Despite challenges such as ensuring the facility remained operational during construction and designing around existing trees, the project successfully revitalized the Dell Jewish Community Center. The new amenities now offer a welcoming and inclusive environment for the entire community.
