Pine Creek High School has unveiled a state-of-the-art aquatics center, a testament to the community’s dedication to student wellbeing and engagement realized through a 2016 bond initiative. The centerpiece is an 8-lane, 25-yard competition pool, perfect for high school swim meets and various aquatics activities, including swim instruction. The facility also features modern locker rooms, ample spectator seating and a high-efficiency HVAC system for optimal comfort and air quality. The 4,500-square-foot competition pool holds 257,200 gallons and includes rollout gutters, a 1-meter diving board, starting blocks and water depths ranging from 4 feet to 12 feet, 6 inches. This aquatics center is part of Academy District 20 in Colorado Springs, where consistent equipment and amenities across facilities ensure operational familiarity and expertise. Counsilman-Hunsaker developed comprehensive equipment standards for the district, covering pools and mechanical rooms to maintain high standards.
