Old Town Splash Park

Lewisville, Texas
Construction Cost: $1.2 million
Area / Square Feet: 13,700
Occupancy Date: June 2023

The Old Town Aquatic Park was transformed by the City of Lewisville’s chosen architects into the vibrant Old Town Splash Park. The project aimed to create a premier community destination by incorporating captivating aquatic elements while addressing declining engagement and lifeguard shortages. Key benefits include reduced operating costs, fewer staff requirements and significantly lower water usage. The new park features five nature-inspired above-ground structures, four splash zones and strategically placed shaded areas with seating. More than 90 interactive elements utilize a recirculated water system for optimal efficiency. The project repurposed existing pool equipment and tackled design challenges such as aligning splash pad grades and integrating custom rockwork with water sprays. The result is an accessible, engaging and environmentally friendly space for the Lewisville community. The park is open from May 1 to Sept. 30 with no admission fee, and activator buttons allow guests to turn on features during park hours.
