The City of Lansing celebrated the June 2025 grand opening of the brand-new Lansing Aquatic Center, which came to fruition thanks to a voter-approved sales tax increase in 2022. Construction of the $7 million project began in 2024. Before its completion last summer, Lansing did not have a public outdoor swimming pool. With a water surface area of 8,840 square feet, Lansing Aquatic Center offers ample space and amenities for patrons to enjoy during the hot summer months. Features include a six-lane, 25-meter lap pool, a diving board, a basketball goal, a retractable water volleyball net, a climbing wall, a zero-depth-entry shallow pool with a family slide, a compact lazy river, two full-size waterslides, and a separated splashpad. A large, state-of-the-art bathhouse contains the pump room, filtration systems, lifeguard and staff space, a ticketing booth and reception area, concessions stands, family changing rooms, restrooms and a shower area. Complemented by landscaping and modern shading and seating solutions, patrons have plenty of options to stay cool, whether theyβre splashing around in the water or lounging on the deck.
