Mountain Recreation Eagle Pool

Eagle, Colo.
Construction Cost: $13 million
Area / Square Feet: 20,000
Occupancy Date: April 2025

The original Eagle Pool closed in 2022 after significant water loss revealed settlement issues compromising filtration, chemical treatment and health code compliance. In response, the Town of Eagle partnered with the Mountain Recreation District to replace the facility at the Eagle Pool & Ice Rink, breaking ground in May 2024. To ensure long-term stability, a geotechnical study was conducted to address the site’s hydro-collapsible soils. More than 260 compaction grout columns were installed beneath the new pool to reinforce the ground and prevent future settlement. Community input and open houses guided the design process. The new outdoor aquatics area nearly doubles the previous water surface and introduces two distinct pools: a six-lane, 25-yard lap and competition pool, and a 4,500-square-foot leisure pool featuring zero-depth entry, a current channel, sport area and expanded play features. The facility also adds two new slides, four family changing rooms, shaded seating and the return of Willy the Frog, along with basketball hoops, ziplines and interactive elements that enhance the family-friendly experience.
