This new two-story, 89,000-square-foot recreation center showcases a dynamic wellness and recreation program for students, faculty and alumni. It features a teaching and demonstration kitchen, weight fitness areas, a two-court gym with an elevated track, and various fitness studios, including TRX, CrossFit, Spin and yoga.
Outdoor features include a recreation/leisure swimming pool with three 25-yard lap lanes and a lounging shelf, an outdoor exercise terrace, and a basketball court. The outdoor pool focuses on leisure and recreation and utilizes a subtle guitar-shaped theme as a tribute to the rich blues guitar history of the Memphis music scene, while accommodating fitness lap swimming, water basketball and water volleyball.
