The Green Health and Wellness Center, Akron General Partners’ third such facility, extends Akron General’s award-winning services to the residents of southern Summit and northern Stark counties. The company’s model of medical and wellness integration brings together fitness and wellness membership programs, physical therapy, sports medicine, women’s programs, diagnostics services and 24-hour emergency services.
Integration at all levels of operations and administration is essential to the success of this comprehensive approach to healthcare delivery, and that is accomplished through creative space planning and design. The building supports the sharing of staff, equipment, amenities and such exercise/recreational areas as pools, a gymnasium, group exercise studios, weight training space and locker rooms. The facility also provides the most current technology in diagnostics and emergency care.
A lifestyle/wellness area serves as a state-of-the-art medically supervised fitness center blended with cardiac and physical rehabilitation services. Highlights include a 10,000-square-foot exercise floor, a climbing wall, group exercise rooms, a free-weight area, an elevated track, a kid’s fitness area, a gymnasium and express lockers.
The upscale locker room areas include men’s and women’s saunas, men’s and women’s steam rooms, private showers, grooming areas, family locker rooms, and men’s and women’s lounges.
