The WeStreet Ice Center serves as Tulsa’s premier destination for community ice sports and elite-level training. Located in a former Macy’s department store, the facility exemplifies adaptive reuse by transforming an underutilized retail space into a vibrant public amenity that fuels urban revitalization and expands access to recreation.
At the heart of the project is an ambitious engineering solution: 40% of the structural columns and 50% of the second floor were replaced with long-span inverted bowstring trusses. The result is a bright, open interior that seamlessly blends skating, gathering and spectating. The facility features two NHL-sized ice rinks, including one with stadium seating, serving both professional and community needs. As the practice facility for the ECHL Tulsa Oilers, the center also operates as a public rink when not in use by the team.
Beyond the ice, the WeStreet Ice Center offers a 400-person restaurant with panoramic rink views, a team store, 10 public locker rooms, two community rooms, two game simulators and an arcade — creating a multigenerational hub for both active and social experiences.
In recognition of its community impact, the WeStreet Ice Center received the 2023/2024 Community Partner Award from the Tulsa Sports Commission. This honor underscores the facility’s role in fostering local pride, engagement and economic vitality.
