Arvada Aquatics Center

The Arvada Aquatics Center (AAC) is a state-of-the-art facility designed to serve both competitive athletes and recreational swimmers in the Arvada community and beyond. Developed through a partnership between the City of Arvada, Jeffco Public Schools and the Apex Park and Recreation District, the AAC is poised to become one of the premier aquatics centers in Colorado. 

At the heart of the facility is a 50-meterby-25-yard competition pool, featuring adjustable bulkheads for flexible event configurations and on-deck seating for up to 400 participants. The center also includes spectator seating for 800, ensuring an optimal experience for large-scale swim meets and diving competitions. Complementing the main competition pool is a warmer-water secondary pool, designed for swim lessons, therapy and other aquatics programming. The AAC also boasts a dedicated diving well, complete with multiple springboards and platform diving, making it the only facility of its kind in Colorado — outside of the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. 

Built with Myrtha Pool technology for enhanced durability, the AAC is designed to be energy-efficient and environmentally responsible. Reflecting designers’ LEED Silver certification goals, the facility features regenerative media filtration systems, reducing indoor water use by approximately 40%, and native landscaping with high-efficiency drip irrigation, cutting outdoor water demand by 77%. Energyefficient HVAC systems and boilers, as well as LED lighting, contribute to an anticipated 20% reduction in energy costs. Additionally, waste diversion efforts during demolition and construction resulted in 85% of materials being recycled, minimizing environmental impact.
