A new collegiate athletic space has opened its doors in California.
The new Center for Athletics, Recreation and Wellness at Pomona College and Pitzer College opened Friday in Claremont, Calif.
Pomona-Pitzer’s much-anticipated $57 million construction and renovation project has created a facility that supports health and wellness for the campus communities of both colleges. The Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens are the joint athletics program for Pomona College and Pitzer College.
The project included expanding the fitness area, a second-floor recreational gym with a nearly floor-to-ceiling view of the San Gabriel Mountains, and two large studios for activities such as yoga or spinning, the facility provides new gathering places for the community.
