
Officials in Philadelphia are searching for solutions after two shootings played out at local recreation centers.
According to ABC 6, community leaders held an emergency meeting Tuesday at the Finley Recreation Center after eight youths have been injured in shootings over the course of eight days. While the meeting was in session, a teenager was shot about 10 minutes away at the Lonnie Young Recreation Center.
The 18-year-old victim was shot three times in the chest and was listed as critical at an area hospital. Officials believe there were two shooters, possibly shooting at each other.
First deputy commissioner John Stanford said he intends to respond quickly and increase presence at local facilities.
"If you come to our rec centers, we have cameras in all of them most of them, we're going to find them and bring the justice," explained Philadelphia Police commissioner Kevin Bethel.
A police vehicle will be outside Finley Recreation Center daily while it's open, and police are alos doing checks both inside and outside, as well as adding bike patrols.
Two suspects are in custody in relation to the Tuesday shooting, and an investigation in ongoing.
