Mississippi State University trustees approved plans Thursday for the school to borrow up to $30 million to renovate and expand Dudy Noble Field-Polk DeMent Stadium.

The proposal, first unveiled in 2014, calls for a double-tiered grandstand, an elevated concourse encircling the playing field, new entry plazas, restrooms and concessions areas, a kids’ play area, berm seating and upgraded field lighting, according to PanStadia.

In addition, the project will include a new video board, ribbon signage, a training room, an equipment room and coaches’ offices. Premium-seating options, including 50 skyboxes, club and loge seating will be added to the stadium, as well.

The design team includes Wier Boerner Allin Architecture and Populous, who worked with MSU alum Janet Marie Smith to produce the Dudy Noble Field Master Plan concept.

The full cost of the project is expected at $55 million, meaning that at least $25 million will come from donors.
