The University of Connecticut recently received approval to build a new on-campus hockey arena. The planned 2,600-seat arena will host the men’s and women’s hockey teams and include such amenities as team lounges, a dry locker area and locker rooms with video displays, visiting team locker rooms, a hydrotherapy area, a strength and conditioning room, coaches’ offices, a press box, a dining area and more. The Anaheim Family YMCA recently completed a new outdoor soccer area. The complex, designed by PREMIER Design + Build Group, includes six 60-foot-by-90-foot soccer arenas with dividing walls, perimeter netting and arena lighting, as well as three multipurpose fields. The multipurpose fields will host activities such as martial arts, Zumba, preschool sports, family activities, yoga, tai chi and more. — Press release

The University of Texas at El Paso announced that it has received a $500,000 gift to help fund a new Courtside Club directly off of the Don Haskins Center. The project will provide special game day access and hospitality for Miner fans, including premium food and beverage service. — UTEPMiners.com

FC Cincinnati has completed TQL Stadium, a 26,000-seat soccer-specific stadium in downtown Cincinnati. The stadium, designed by Populous, features a 300,000-square-foot canopy to provide fans with protection from the elements, and a stunning exterior LED display on the building’s facade. — Press Release
