Bexar County has committed $10 million to build new athletic fields at Texas A&M University-San Antonio, which when finished will add new university sports programs and a safe public space for physical activity.

The money will fund a new $7.4 million track field and multipurpose facility, and $2.4 million will go to renovate the school’s existing softball field into a stadium for that sport. [San Antonio Report]

The longstanding partnership between The University of Texas at Austin and Dell Technologies has reached another milestone with the opening of the Alienware Longhorn Esports Arena in the historic Texas Union Underground. The new arena builds on the success of the Alienware Longhorn Esports Lounge, which opened in August 2022. [UT News]

Last week marked an exciting milestone for fans of soccer in Lexington and for area leaders. The Lexington Sporting Club officially announced their multi-million dollar soccer stadium will be built along Athens Boonesboro Road, next to the I-75 interchange.

The team has worked for years to find a spot for the stadium, earlier looking at a downtown option or one near Newtown Pike.
