Calgary Defends $18.9M Fee for U.S. Firm to Oversee Arena Construction

The City of Calgary is defending the $18.9 million fee that will be paid to CAA Icon, an American firm selected as the development manager for a new downtown arena.

According to CBC News, the city's general manager of infrastructure services, Michael Thompson, said the job includes overseeing the design process, obtaining necessary approvals and guiding construction of the $926 million event center and surrounding area over a three-year period.
