The project design will be committed to maintaining stadium views and engagement to the Mizzou campus north of Memorial Stadium while minimizing construction impact onto future football season game-day activities.
While cost estimates for the project will develop as programming plans are finalized, private donor contributions will fund the stadium renovations.

Construction on the new Jim Green Track and Field Center at the University of Kentucky has been completed. The facility officially opened Dec. 13 at a ceremony with the building’s namesake honoree,
The building is dedicated in honor of Jim Green, the first African American student-athlete at Kentucky and in the Southeastern Conference to win both SEC and NCAA championships.
The program will use the facility for practices throughout the 2023-24 season.
The new facility will encompass 81,000 square feet in addition to a 200-meter banked track enabling the runners to train on a surface that is now standard for NCAA and SEC indoor championships.
The building is located adjacent to the UK Outdoor Track and the teams’ locker rooms and strength and conditioning areas in Shively Sports Center.
Along with the new facility, a statue was unveiled showing a sprinting Jim Green and a list of all his accomplishments as a Wildcat.
Green was the first African American at UK to serve as co-captain on the track team and in December of 1971 became the first African American student-athlete to graduate from UK.
Despite facing open hostility at many competitions, Green succeeded at the highest levels of collegiate sport. He was a two-time NCAA champion, winning the 60-yard dash in 1968 and 1971.
The Wildcats will train in the facility ahead of the Rod McCravy Memorial on Jan. 12-13 in Louisville, Ky. [UK Athletics]
