Nearly nine months after heavy rainfall and flash flooding caused leaks in the roof and flooding in the parking lots at the Milwaukee Brewers’ American Family Field, rainstorms this week once again drenched the ballpark.
According to The Weather Channel, rain was pouring through the roof at American Family Field on Wednesday night as the Brewers faced off against the Toronto Blue Jays. The water pooled on the club level and left large puddles in the outfield.
Wednesday night’s flooding followed tornado warnings during Tuesday night’s game, but stadium officials did not communicate anything regarding severe weather during either game.
Despite the inclement weather, one fan said, “I think that is probably the safest place to be. The structure of that building is amazing.”

The Brewers did release a statement regarding the tornado warning following Tuesday night’s game. It said, “Immediately following the notification of the warning, we consulted directly with multiple meteorologist experts who advise us on a regular basis when severe weather is present. In assessing local conditions in real time, ongoing monitoring of radar, storm movement, weather models and lake effect, all experts advised that there was no imminent threat to the ballpark.”
Flash flooding also trapped cars on the roadways around American Family Field on Wednesday night.
According to WISN, floodwaters submerged the stadium interchange and nearby Highway 175. Videos shared by the Department of Transportation show at least six vehicles submerged nearly to their roofs, and a full parking lot of cars, unable to leave, nearby.
