Geri-Fit Launches Senior Fitness Online Training Program

Temecula, CA – The Geri-Fit Company LLC released its first accredited distance learning course in 2014,Advanced Strength Training Techniques for Older Adults.  Both the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and the American Council on Exercise (ACE) have approved the course for 2.0 CEUs & CECs, respectively. With over 20 years as a provider of quality fitness programming and health education, Geri-Fit is a leader in the senior fitness market.

“Our objective is to educate and train fitness professionals to provide quality fitness experiences to our elders, more specifically, those over the age of 75 years,” says Francesca Fisher, Geri-Fit’s founder and Executive Director.  This segment of the U.S. population has, until now, been left out of mainstream fitness.  The company’s intention is to hand down the 20 years experience it has seen in the older adult fitness industry and to educate and support those professionals who have a passion to work with this precious age group.

Distance learning, aka online training programs, plays an integral role in the pursuit of continuing education for many.  Of particular appeal is the flexibility and convenience of completing the course ‘on the go’ and at times that are convenient to the student.  Geri-Fit’s program takes about 70 hours to complete including study time and practical application.  Students have six months to complete the online course and must pass a written and practical examination in order to receive their certificate of completion and recordation of their contact hours.
