WHAT: American Council on Exercise (ACE), the largest organization certifying fitness professionals nationwide, will host a live webinar titled, “Community Based Fitness Business: Shared-Use and the Fitness Professional.”

Led by Sheila Franklin, federal advocacy manager at ACE, the webinar offers insight into a running group fitness business in a public or a community setting and its benefits to residents and fitness professionals.

Webinar attendees can expect to learn:

  • How to create official agreements for professionally led group fitness programs in public spaces
  • How to grow your group fitness business through shared use of public spaces
  • ACE guidelines for group fitness programs in the community

WHY: Conversations regarding shared use of parks, school grounds and other public spaces for group fitness have historically originated as discussions on how to cultivate more physically active and dynamic communities. ACE believes that a proactive approach to managing for- and not-for profit entities that offer structured physical activity and fitness programs in public spaces can best serve communities. Ensuring safe, engaging opportunities for all people can promote healthy, active lifestyle behaviors and also create new opportunities for fitness professionals.

WHEN: Tuesday, April 14, 2015; 11 a.m.—noon PST
