CycleBar® Collaborates with American Heart Association/American Stroke Association to Improve Heart Health

Premier Indoor Cycling™ Franchise Launches Initiative to Inspire Heart Health, Organizes National Movement

CINCINNATI (May 2, 2016) – This fall, CycleBar®, the premier indoor cycling franchise, will be unleashing the power of cycling through a dynamic collaboration  with the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. With the shared goal of helping Americans regain control of their health through exercise, the two parties have joined forces to create the CycleNation™movement, a nation-wide phenomenon that will bring cycling charity events to cities across the nation.

With the CycleNation™ website launching today, riders can begin signing up for the first events on the “American Beat Tour” in Denver (October 1-2), Atlanta (November 12-13), Cincinnati (October 15-16) and Dallas (November 5-6). In order to participate, teams of four or more members will register with a minimum fundraising goal of $1,000 to reserve a bike for a four-hour period. At the events, CycleBar staff and the AHA/ASA staff will work together to help create an energetic, intoxicating class experience that promotes strong heart and brain health.

“We’re so pleased that the AHA/ASA chose CycleBar as the organization that will help bring active, heart-healthy lifestyles to the nation through the power of cycling. The health benefits of CycleBar and the brand’s community involvement are a perfect match with the AHA/ASA,” said Heather Harris, president of CycleBar®. “Pairing AHA/ASA’s long history of educating and inspiring people to get active with the high energy, infectious spirit of CycleBar will rejuvenate and motivate healthy, active lifestyles across the country.”

The CycleNation™ American Beat Tour will be taking place October through November. CycleBar and the AHA/ASA will be hosting “city take overs” to fundraise for the AHA/ASA. The take overs will start off with an in-studio rally the night before pop up fundraising rides, which will be held at strategic microsites in each city. The events will educate the local communities about the importance of CycleBar and the AHA/ASA’s mission.

"Continuing our relationship with CycleBar and increasing the scale of our events through CycleNation is an effective way to not only reach more people, but share a more meaningful message about heart disease and stroke prevention," said Dr. Nieca Goldberg, cardiologist and AHA/ASA spokesperson. "Being able to combine our message about heart and brain health with the great cardio workout that cycling provides is a powerful way to underline the importance of taking control of your health through exercise."

CycleBar® has a history of working together with the AHA/ASA to find energetic and entertaining ways to raise money for the national organization with its CycleGiving™ charitable efforts. This past August, they teamed up to put on a “Rock the Bridge” cycling event on the People Purple Bridge in Cincinnati for the AHA/ASA. CycleBar is elated to be chosen as a national sponsor of the AHA/ASA’s CycleNation™ Movement to continue collaborating on high-energy fundraising events.
