RockBox Fitness laces up the gloves for franchise expansion; Looks to have as many as 200 studios nationwide by 2024

CHARLOTTE, NC – Boxing is becoming a popular choice for men and women in America who want a great workout. In fact, over the past five years, the Boxing Gyms & Clubs industry has grown by 2.1% to reach revenue of $1 billion in 2017. And one new franchise is looking to knock out the competition.

RockBox Fitness – a state-of-the-art fitness franchise that combines boxing, kickboxing, and functional training into high-energy group workouts – recently announced plans to expand its national footprint via franchising. With four locations already open and operating in North Carolina, company plans call for having as many as 200 total units across the country by 2024.

Franchise development agreements have already been signed for 22 studios in six states, including Arizona, California, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

“Boxers are some of the best-conditioned athletes in the world, and they consistently get to that level by dedicating themselves to a work out program which combines both cardiovascular and strength training. RockBox has taken the same approach and put it in a clean, friendly and welcoming environment suitable for everyone at any level,” said RockBox co-founder Steve Halloran, a 20-year boxing veteran who found his passion for the sport in his early pre-teen years. “We’re much more than just boxing. We’re more than just a gym. We’re a reach-your-goals, live-life-out-loud, feel-good fitness community, and we look forward to bringing our attitude and lifestyle to even more markets nationwide.”

Founded in 2017 and franchising since early 2018, RockBox Fitness was built to avoid the number one problem with any fitness program – boredom. The studios feature all the boxing equipment and heavy bags one would expect for a boxing- and kickboxing-based workout, plus an array of functional training tools like kettle bells, battle ropes and sleds (elliptical and treadmill machines need not apply). In addition, the studios are equipped with high-end sound systems to rock the tunes that keep members pumped and pushing hard. Color-adaptive lighting is also used to cue another level of psychological motivation. When the lights change, so does the intensity.

RockBox has four different membership types from which to choose ranging from unlimited training sessions to private lessons.

“We take fitness to a whole new level. Bootcamps and circuit training can sometimes grow stale and boring for participants. We don’t believe that creates long-term results,” said Halloran. “We’ve implemented the perfect variety of equipment to allow our members to achieve a full-body, goal-smashing, life-changing workout. We’ve helped tired moms experience new stamina, young professionals radiate confidence and fathers re-energize and re-engage.”

RockBox’s trainers make up the expertise and the passion that drives the workouts. Each trainer is professionally certified, accredited and has years-upon-years of experience boxing and kickboxing.

“This gym has been life changing for me. The diet, exercise program, trainers, coaches, friends have made this experience overall outstanding,” said RockBox member Fred W.

To augment the company’s growth, RockBox Fitness is seeking both single- and multi-unit franchisees interested in joining a team-oriented environment, strong business acumen, and are passionate about health and fitness. Including a franchise fee of $32,900, the initial investment to open a 3,000-4,000 square foot studio ranges from $169,450 - $258,300.
