Degree Deodorant Unveils First Wave of College Athlete Partners for The #BreakingLimits Team

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. (July 7, 2021) –Degree has officially unveiled its #BreakingLimits team in celebration of the new policies allowing college athletes to monetize their name, image and likeness – marking the brand's first-ever campaign with college athlete partners. The team is comprised of a diverse group of athletes across the spectrum of college sports, who are inspiring people to break limits every day:

DEGREE'S #BREAKINGLIMITS TEAM ROSTER:

"We are honored to partner with such an extraordinary class of college athletes – each member of this group has their own personal story about perseverance and breaking limits through the power of sport," said Chiara Grillo, Senior Marketing Manager, Degree. "We look forward to working with the #BreakingLimits team on programs that inspire even more young people to keep moving."

Degree will work with the #BreakingLimits team on programs such as funding local community projects (i.e. recreation centers, youth organizations), content partnerships, and more. Together with its student athlete partners, Degree will continue to roll out new initiatives and programming in the weeks and months ahead, focused on supporting those who face the biggest barriers to being active.

To help expand the #BreakingLimits roster over the next year, Degree is calling on eligible college athletes across the country to share how they've overcome personal and societal challenges and how they encourage others to break their own limits.  As a brand that's committed to inspiring confidence in everyone to move more, Degree wants to hear firsthand from college athletes with untold or overlooked stories that have the power to inspire others.

Eligible college athletes can participate through Degree's Instagram. The nomination process will kick off on July 7th and run through July 14th. Degree will then select one individual who will receive an offer to join the #BreakingLimits roster. From there, Degree will then make the formal announcement to the public in early August. To learn more about the nomination process and #BreakingLimits program, follow Degree on InstagramTwitter, and Facebook to learn more.

"Our #BreakingLimits initiatives underscore Unilever's larger commitment to build a more equitable society," said Rob Master, VP of Media and Digital Engagement at Unilever NA. "As a company that believes business can be a force for good, Unilever is thrilled to be on the front lines of such a historic moment to set a positive precedent for working with college athletes now and in the future."

Unilever's approach to working with college athletes will highlight purpose-led initiatives, amplify athlete stories and experiences, and provide equal compensation to both men's and women's athletes in aggregate.
