Atlanta Falcons’ JD Bertrand Partners With Guardian Sports for Guardian Caps Donation

Guardian Sports, the company leading sports protection & performance for sports at all levels, has teamed up with Atlanta Falcons’ linebacker JD Bertrand for a Guardian Caps donation to his high school alma mater, Blessed Trinity Catholic High School in Roswell, GA.

JD Bertrand is a professional football linebacker for the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons and an avid Guardian Cap advocate. Through this collaboration, both Bertrand and Guardian Sports aim to further promote athlete safety awareness across all levels of play.

Bertrand shares that, “I’m honored to partner with Guardian Sports to give back to a place that gave so much to me in my younger football career. Being able to provide a key way to promote athlete safety to this age group means a lot and will play a role in the future of their game play.”

Guardian Caps are designed to fit over existing football helmets, adding a soft padded outer layer intended to help reduce the severity of impacts by absorbing and redistributing force. Since their introduction in 2010, Guardian Caps have been adopted across all levels of football as part of ongoing efforts to support player safety and reduce repetitive impacts.

As part of the initiatives, Bertrand donated 50 Guardian Caps and 25 Guardian FLEX SoftShox Chinstrap, in an effort to promote youth athlete safety.

The Guardian FLEX Chinstrap reduces HARM (Head Acceleration Response Metric) by up to 35%, offering better protection in a critical location. It is the first and only safety-focused chinstrap designed to address a gap in helmet protection.

Guardian Sports CEO Erin Hanson said, “We’re excited to team up with Atlanta Falcons linebacker JD Bertrand for this giveaway. There’s something special about seeing an NFL player who wore and believed in the Guardian Cap give back to the youth players following in his footsteps. Kids look up to athletes like JD, and his support helps inspire the next generation to make safety a priority while chasing their dreams on the field. It’s a great reminder that protecting athletes starts early and benefits them for years to come.”

Both based in Atlanta, this donation showcases the ongoing efforts happening across Georgia to protect athletes across the state from youth to professional level. This donation is part of a larger movement by Guardian Sports to provide high quality and affordable sports gear to players at every level.
