In fact, their spending power is expected to surpass their baby boomer predecessors by 2018. As a result, technology savvy companies are looking to tap into the tech obsessed generation, who are highly receptive to digital solutions and offerings. From e-commerce to social media marketing, millennials have created a niche that some tried and true industries, like the NFL, are still struggling to master.
While the NFL enjoys a massive intergenerational following with over 202 million people watching games in the 2014 season, a survey conducted by Jeetendr Sehdev revealed that 67% of Millennials in the country do not trust NFL players. Some even view the league as a sleazy organization. Since then, these views seem to have prompted the NFL into action by changing the way it interacts with its fans.
