The University of Massachusetts has pledged to pay a student the $10,000 prize for making a half-court shot during halftime of a women’s basketball game, despite the shot being disputed by an insurance company as not being taken behind the mid-court line.

As reported by Jimmy Golen of The Associated Press, Noah Lee was selected for Wednesday's contest that required him to make a layup, a free throw, a 3-pointer and a half-court shot within 25 seconds. He made them all, but the school said the insurance company handling the promotion declined the payout.
