Welcome to Fundraising Friday, AB Today's weekly digest of recent developments in development.

The Board of Education serving West Geauga Local Schools in Chesterland, Ohio, approved a resolution July 20 to purchase a new scoreboard for West Geauga High School’s stadium, thanks to an anonymous $35,000 donation that covered the full cost of the project. As reported by the West Geauga Maple Leaf, the new scoreboard features a design similar to the 2007 model it replaces, including the West Geauga Wolverine mascot at the top, but also interchangeable panels allowing respective team names to be switched, depending on the game — an upgrade over previous "HOME" and "AWAY" labels.

Boise State Athletics has announced that EmpowHER Play, launched last summer by locally-owned Maddyn Homes, raised more than $30,000 to support female student-athletes at Boise State during the 2025-26 academic year. Every donation made through EmpowHER Play was amplified by a matching contribution from Maddyn Homes. In addition to supporting the initiative, Bronco Nation also responded by purchasing tickets and driving attendance for women's sports up 16% over 2024-25.

Auburn University football safety and Anniston, Ala., native Anquon "New Boy" Fegans returned July 30 to present a $10,000 donation through his New Boy Athletics Foundation to the East Alabama Cowboys at John Nettles Park. The gift, which helped purchase new football equipment for the youth program, represents the latest example of Fegans' continued commitment to investing in the next generation of Anniston youth, as reported by The Anniston Star.

Running total for 2026:
